The Pinterest phenomenon is pretty fascinating. Google could have done something like this from Google Images a couple of years ago. But I don’t think that line of thinking is in their DNA. Pinterest has a much more creative feel, but with a simple Google-like interface that creates a low barrier to entry and use.
The ease of use and I think most importantly the lack of text to clutter the screens/wade through has made this a content sharing machine that’s overtaking some of the net’s top sites.
