The moment you get effortlessly lost in work goes by any number of names: focus, concentration, escapism, flow, and countless others. It’s the point where you’re able to blur the world around you and calibrate your brain to pay attention to one single task.
The Pinterest phenomenon is pretty fascinating. Google could have done something like this from Google Images a couple of years ago. But I don’t think that line of thinking is in their DNA. Pinterest has a much more creative feel, but with a simple Google-like interface that creates a low barrier to entry and use.
The ease of use and I think most importantly the lack of text to clutter the screens/wade through has made this a content sharing machine that’s overtaking some of the net’s top sites.
